Involvement with youth mental health and research interests and activities:
Sandra Torres is the current Director of the Psychological Counselling Unit in Eating Disorders and Obesity, at FPCEUP. She has been studying the treatment outcomes in various psychotherapy modalities (e.g. Cognitive behavioural therapy, Psychodrama) applied to weight disorder spectrum. One of her research interests is the study of the process-outcome of youth psychotherapy in eating and weight disorders. She is also interested in the definition of effective strategies to ameliorate appearance concerns.
